Good news for Figma collectors, gamers and Saber fans. Fate/Extra will be released around March next year for the Sony PSP. Unlike the previously released Fate/Unlimited Codes (for the PSP & PS2) which is a VS fighting game, Fate/Extra will instead be an action RPG featuring the lovely characters from Fate/Stay Night such as Saber and Rin Tohsaka.
The best part is, the game will come in a Limited Edition version which features a special illustrated box, a beautiful figma figure of Saber in her Fate/Extra costume, a soundtrack and a visual book. The Figma figure will come with 2 different headsculpts, sculpted by Wada Aruko and Takeuchi Takashi respectively. The game still has a few months before finally coming to market, but there’s already something to like based on the screens in the Famitsu magazine scans as well as preliminary pics of the figure…Saber’s see-through costume! Can’t wait.
Popular Vocaloid character Miku Hatsune is now getting the robot treatment. This robotic version of Miku will be showcased at the CEATEC JAPAN 2009 show. I’ve only recently found out who(or what) Miku Hatsune was after trying out Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA on PSP. I thought it was a pretty decent game if you’re into music-themed games like DJ Max, Rock Band or Beatmania.
This robotic Miku seems both cute and a little scary at the same time. Maybe it’s just me, but robots with human likenesses and facial expressions always seem a little disturbing.
I’m a few months’ late with this news as I was never really interested in GamePark’s GP2X Wiz prior to its release. I’ve already got a PSP, among a host of other consoles to occupy what little free time I have for games. However, I became interested in the GP2X after viewing a few Youtube videos of the GP2X Wiz running MAME as well as a host of other emulators. It seems like this tiny little wonder can do a alot of things, such as MPEG4, xViD and DivX video playback, MP3, Ogg Vorbis, WAV audio support, as well as the requisite JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP formats for viewing photos. It also comes standard with some pretty impressive specs such as a touch sensitive 2.8-inch QVGA OLED screen, 533MHz ARM9 processor, 64MB of RAM, and 1GB of NAND flash memory!
I’ve been spending too much lately, so I’ll have to wait a little longer if I do decide to pick this miniature wonder up. I’m wondering how well it’ll do compared to the Nintendo DS and Sony PSP. It’s a fair bit smaller than the Sony PSP or Nintendo DS Lite and would be far more pocketable as a portable gaming system. Are you interested in the GP2X Wiz and will you be buying one?
