Continuing from the previous post of spotting Predators in odd situations, here’s a pretty good one as well. It’s a picture of an Alien and Predator having a go at each other again, except this time they’re relying a little bit more on brains than brawn. A surprise really, I never took these two as the intellectual type.

This is Sideshow’s first bust from the Star Wars universe to receive the Legendary Scale Bust treatment. Sideshow has decided to start this line with Commander Cody, the leader of the 212th Attack Battalion. This bust stands at 18 inches tall and depicts Commander Cody receiving “Order 66” from a holographic image of Emperor Palpatine. The Emperor Palpatine hologram features a LED light feature, powered by batteries hidden in a compartment within Commander Cody’s hand.

Although I’m not a huge Star Wars fan, this bust is nevertheless starting to grow on me as I’m a sucker for statues that feature LED lights. And in this case the LED feature is used very appropriately on the holographic image. Nice!

Here’s Hot Toys’ take on one of the characters of Watchmen. The Silk Spectre II figure will be yet another addition in Hot Toys’ impressive line of Movie Masterpiece figures. I think the likeness of the face sculpt is pretty spot-on to Malin Akerman in her role as Silk Spectre II in the highly acclaimed Watchmen movie. Figure-hugging black costume, yellow romper with garters, black thigh-high boot tops, black gloves…what’s there not to like about this figure really? And I like how they’re using implanted hair, rather than the usual sculpted ones. It just adds another layer of realism to the figure, but some might consider that a bit too doll-like eh?

Also, if you’d like to watch the Watchmen film in full-HD glory do check out the Special Edition Blu-Ray Watchmen package at Amazon.com as well, it comes with a nifty light-up Night Owl case to store the Watchmen Blu-Ray discs.

Sideshow Collectibles is releasing a polystone diorama depicting the clash of 2 of our world’s most fearsome creatures. The Aliens VS Predator: Requiem Polystone Diorama will pit a Wolf Predator against a group of Alien pests. I really like the look of the Wolf Predator (which is why I’m still a proud owner of Sideshow’s Wolf Predator Mask), but I didn’t like the Aliens VS Predator: Requiem film much, and I take it most people felt the same.

This is a definite must-have item as I love Matrix and Hot Toys has again done a fantastic job with this. Hot Toys seem to be on a roll these days and most everything they churn out turn to gold. This is of course good for us collectors, as their competitors will just have to step up to the challenge and we can only expect better things in the future from these companies. This here is the Sentinel robot from The Matrix. Not only is it an incredibly detailed representation of the squid-like robot from the Matrix trilogy but at over 15 inches long, this 1/16-scale Sentinel is also pretty huge. The Sentinel features 15 poseable tentacles, each with 2 points of articulation, and 10 poseable limbs beneath the main squid body, each with 3 points of articulation. I guess 2 things are going to suffer as a result of this Sentinel figure, our wallets and display space.

Here’s one for the Star Wars fans out there, especially those who love the little green Jedi Master. This Premium Format Figure depicts Yoda in the midst of handing out some pain to an unfortunate Clone Trooper using his trusty walking stick lightsaber. Yoda will also be outfitted in a real fabric robe. A good decision on Sideshow’s part, since I’ve always preferred mixed media statues using multiple materials as they give a more accurate representation. And to add some bling, Yoda’s lightsaber features electronic light function.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the original Alien film, Sideshow Collectibles in partnership with Hot Toys will be releasing the 1:6-Scale Alien ‘Big Chap’ Poseable Model Kit under Hot Toys’ Movie Masterpiece label and will be based on the original designs of H. R. Giger.

The ‘Big Chap’ is about 14″ in height, roughly the same as Hot Toys’ Predator figures if I’m correct. It comes with a nicely weathered diorama base but not much accessories here, Aliens don’t use guns anyway. They pretty much do away with claws and green acid spit..and the occasional hide and seek.

With the release of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra movie, Joe merchandises have moved into high gear at Sideshow Collectibles. Continuing their line of G.I. Joe 12″ figures is this Duke 12-inch Figure. This elite soldier comes loaded with a tonne of accessories: undershirt, shirt, pants, boots, detailed belt, go bag, utility belt, handgun pouch, helmet, goggles, water bottle, dog tags, medal, laser rifle, rifle, rifle grenades, pistol, pistol magazines, grenades, yellow smoke grenade, red smoke grenade, and three sets of interchangeable hands. Whew..did I miss anything?

Sideshow Collectibles’ The Circle is Now Complete Diorama - Obi-Wan VS Darth Vader, squares two longtime Star Wars heavyweights against each other. It measures 12″ H (304.8mm) x 9″ W (228.6mm) x 9″ D (228.6mm), so this’ll give you an idea of its size and dimensions. I’m not that into Star Wars, so this is definitely a pass for me but some of you out there might very well be interested.

The sculpt and paintwork looks pretty fine to me from the promo shots. I’ve always dreamt of putting together a Resident Evil diorama with zombies from Sideshow’s The Dead line. But considering the number of zombie figures I’d be needing, it’ll probably cost me an arm and a leg (sorry for the pun). Hurry over to Sideshow if you intend to secure yourself a punk. The previous zombie figures such as Subject 1025: The Babysitter - Spooktacular Edition, Subject 138: The Street Prophet, and Subject 2221: The Harbinger - Sideshow Exclusive Edition are still available from Sideshow if you’re interested in building your zombie army.
