 
The much anticipated pair of custom Evangelion Rei Stratocaster and Telecaster from Fender Japan which I mentioned here is finally on auction in Yahoo! Japan. But before you get all excited about wanting to bid and win one of these, I’d like to point out that with a little less than a day left in the auctions (ends 12th Dec 09), the price of the Rei Stratocaster is currently at 9,082,000 YEN ($100,000.00) while the Rei Telecaster 7,756,000 YEN ($86,000.00). No, your eyes are not deceiving you…the bidding on the Rei Stratocaster is already up to a little over $100K! You could almost buy a (cheap) apartment with that money!
So I guess most of us mere mortals will just have to sit back and let the Evangelion fanatics with deep pockets to fight it out. Any guesses how much these will end up going for?

Holy $#!+! A few weeks ago, I mentioned about a beautiful pair of custom Evangelion Rei Stratocaster & Telecaster that were being produced by Fender Japan. Well guess what, there’s going to be 1/8 miniaturized versions of these and they will be produced by F-Toys! This is absolutely amazing news, at least those of us who aren’t prepared to fork out that many greens for the real-deal can now own the miniature versions. Hey, if we can’t own the full-sized one ourselves, doesn’t mean our lovely 1/8 figs can’t have one too. Can’t wait to have these to go along with my 1/8 Haruhi.
Expect these to hit shelves around January 2010 for 4,725YEN ($50) each. Best of all, they even come with their own Nerv carrying case.

Uplark looks like they’re on a roll. This fantabulous figure of Rei Ayanami with Entry Plug Interior is amazing don’t you think? Scheduled for a release before the end of the year for about 12,800 YEN (US$140). It’s by no means a cheap figure, but the price reflects the size of the entire piece, as the entry plug is 33 cm (13-inches) long. This would really stand out if displayed alonside other PVC figures. Definitely a must-have for me!

What we have here today is a SH-06A NERV phone courtesy of Sharp and DoCoMo, and is scheduled to be available sometime around June/July. This awesome phone will sport features like a unique Nerv exterior decoration, 10MP CCD camera with LED flashlight, a 3.3” WVGA LCD, as well as a customised Evangelion GUI. In keeping with the Evangelion theme, this uber sweet phone will also come with customised ring tones and wallpapers.
Judging by the picture below, the phone will come packaged in a nifty brown box, as well as a few bonuses like the 50% Be@rbrick, a very unique carrying case (which is shown to the right of the Be@rbrick), as well as some sort of Nerv Manual which I’m assuming is just the phone’s user manual but made to look like some classified document.
Damn, if only this phone could work outside of Japan. I’d buy this just so I can pretend I’m some Nerv officer speaking to Misato!

Here’s a nice replica of the EVA-01 Progressive Knife seen in the film “Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone.” It’s got a foldable blade and is apparently made of vinyl.
This’ll make a great prop for the Cosplayer in you. Just make sure you don’t go around stabbing anyone with it. Not that you’d hurt anybody, you’d just end up in a lot of pain when the angry mob realises that you’re just using a vinyl knife. Ouch.

Came across a few uber cool Evangelion based apps for the iPhone. The applications are made by Appliya. There are a total of 5 apps, and the coolest by far would have to be the “Evangelion Vol.2 Clock” application. They’ve even provided an origami stand that’s free to download here for use as an iPhone dock. I like my Evangelion, if only I have an iPhone right now, I’ll be all over this app!
