Harrison Krix of Volpin Props, whose jaw-droppingly outstanding Big Daddy suit I mentioned in one of my previous post has again managed to awe and inspire us by taking some of the most surreal and beautiful photos of him in said suit. He was complemented by his fiancee Emily, who looked equally amazing as a Little Sister. The photos were taken in the Georgia Aquarium, and I think you’ll agree with me that they do indeed look as though the pictures came right out of the game itself! Just compare the pictures with this official Bioshock wallpaper from the 2kGames site and you’ll get what I mean.

After you’re done picking up your jaw from the floor from viewing the rest of the high res pictures in his blog here, you’ll be in for another surprise as he’s currently auctioning off this very same Big Daddy suit on Ebay (auction ends Dec 03, 2009 09:20:14 PST). Yes folks, if you have some extra greens lying around and you feel like owning this superbly made replica costume of the Big Daddy, you actually have the ability to do so now. Mr Krix is even willing to build a custom display stand for the suit for a fee if the auction winner would like one.

This suit and the photoshoot is awesomeness redefined, and I’m dreaming of having it on display in my games room even as I type…*sigh*..note to self..I’ve gotta earn myself more money.

Here’s an awesome looking paper model if you’re flat out broke and need something to fix your figure addiction. Why not build a figure out of paper instead? All you need is a decent printer, some glue, and a lot little bit of patience. But the results are well worth it, and it’s much more rewarding than just buying a figure and pulling it out of the box. ;)

What we have here is a paper model of the intimidating and much-feared Big Daddy from Bioshock. It also includes a Little Sister model which isn’t shown in the picture.

I wrote about those irresistible Bioshock 2 figures in my previous post, and now I came across these pictures. Bioshock 2 hasn’t been out but there’re already cosplayers out there making brilliant costumed representations of the Big Sister character from the game. This is one of the best cosplays I’ve seen in a while if you ask me. Kudos to the person who took the time and effort in putting together such a great costume.

This will be the start of a slew of SDCC 2009 and Wonderfest 2009 news I’ll be writing about hopefully in the next couple of days. There’re so much awesome stuff in the pipeline for us collectors I’m wondering how we’ll be able to pick and choose! To start this off, here’s one of my favorites. I’m a huge Bioshock fan, the first game was beyond awesome and I can’t wait for the sequel and this line of figures from Neca. Finally, a Big Daddy figure that doesn’t require paying a huge premium for!

Neca showed off 6 prototypes, Splicer, Little Sister, Big Sister, original Big Daddy from Bioshock, and 2 different versions of Big Daddy, with Rosie or Bouncer.

These figures should be released together with next year’s Bioshock 2 game and would most likely be priced somewhere along the $15 to $20 range.
