Whoaaa, check this out! Guess what I stumbled on while trolling Ebay? This awesome looking custom Batman - The Dark Knight Batpod! Whoever made this has got some serious talent (and time) on their hands. Judging from the pictures, it looks almost screen accurate.

This interpretation of Bruce Wayne’s favorite crime-busting transporter is equipped with a 650cc 4 stroke, water cooled engine with direct port nitrous injection! 0_0 And no Batpod would be complete without some grappling hooks, grenade launchers, and 50 caliber machine guns (shame they don’t work eh).

I wonder how much the seller is looking to get for it? It’s currently at $30k (yep, that’s 3 with fourbig ZEROES after it) and the reserve hasn’t been met! I’ll definitely be following this one closely, just to see how much the auction ends at since I haven’t got some spare $30-$50k lying around under my bed (it’s tmes like these I wish I was Bruce Wayne, but then again if I was Bruce I wouldn’t need to buy my Batpod from Ebay :)).

the_a-team_movie_promo_poster

Just came across an official promo shot of the cast of upcoming The A-Team movie on WorstPreviews.com. The picture brought back memories of those childhood years when I would eagerly wait for every episode of Hannibal and his rag-tag team of misfits to blow me away on the small screen for an hour.

My favourite character was of course B.A. Baracus (played by Mr. T), the mohawk-sporting resident tough guy. I recall owning the 12″ B.A. Baracus figure which was made by Galoob way back in the 80s, and it was one of my favorite toys back then, next to my Transformers and M.A.S.K. vehicles & figures. Ahhh, it’s always a great feeling to reminisce the good old childhood days.

In this movie remake, the role of B.A. Baracus will be played by Quinto Jackson. The rest of the cast are Liam Neeson as Hannibal, Bradley Cooper as Faceman, and Sharlto Copley as “Howling Mad” Murdock. Can’t wait to see how they compare with the original cast! To further add to the excitement, Hollywood hottie Jessica Biel will have a role as an army general and ex-love of Faceman. This film looks like it’ll be an absolute blast!

I came across footages of these Nokia ad & Mars Bars ad while watching the documentary How Bruce Lee Changed The World. I thought the people who created those ads were rather smart. The Mars Bars ad was hilarious while the Nokia ad was just plain cool. The ads are by no means new and judging by their popularity on Youtube, some of you might have already seen ‘em.

The documentary itself was an interesting and entertaining watch. It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re a fan of Bruce Lee or just intrigued about the legendary figure who influenced so many people across so many aspects of life. People who were interviewed include LL Cool J, directors John Woo, Quentin Tarantino and Brett Ratner, Stan Lee of Marvel Comics, Dana White the President of UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship), and Jacky Chan. There’re quite a few others but these are the people I remember off the top of my head.

How Bruce Lee Changed The World also gave an insight into his influence on not just film, but art, music, literature, sports and martial arts. I absolutely enjoyed all 90 minutes of it.

Ahhh the kind of stuff that’s every man’s boy’s dream..to own the leather costume worn by Transformers hottie Megan Fox. This, together with various props from both Transformers films will be be auctioned off next month on iCollector. Flashbacks of Ms Fox changing out of the leather costume to surprise Sam Witwicky outside his house is suddenly all coming back to me. That itself was worth the 2.5 hours I had to sit through watching that mindless film.

Other props worth mentioning include the Matrix of Leadership, Megan Fox’s hero motorcycle airbrushing costume, and a gargantuan Full-scale screen-used Hero Bumblebee robot with bidding starting at $60,000!

disney_buys_marvel_for_4_billionHoly $#!+! This is a bit of a surprise as these two powerhouses seem like a very unlikely combination. Many titles within Marvel’s stable of comics seem to be featuring more gore and tittilation of late to cater towards an increasingly desensitized audience while Disney is a family-friendly company.

Anyway, the deal will be worth $4 billion and under the terms of the agreement, Disney will pay Marvel shareholders $30 per share for their Marvel stock, plus .745 of a share of Disney stock for each share they own.

“Both companies have approved the deal, though it still has to clear the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act and various regulatory committees before it can be finalized. Once finalized, Marvel’s Perlmutter will continue to oversee Marvel’s properties, working with Disney to help integrate the two properties across multiple lines of business.”

I’m somehow envisaging a crossover, sort of like a merging of characters in a game not dissimilar to Kingdom Hearts, where we see Disney characters together with Square Enix characters. Or maybe a VS fighting game like Marvel VS Capcom, except this time it’ll be Marvel VS Disney. LOL…Magneto VS a cooking-pan-wielding Daisy Duck perhaps? Ok, enough of mocking already. In all seriousness, the first thing that came to mind was if Marvel’s more violent titles will be made more kid-friendly for younger audiences. I hope not. If Disney/Marvel were to follow in the footsteps of Warner Bros/DC Comics, then we have little to worry about since DC Comics have remained the same since Warner took over DC.

Hopefully this deal will bring forth something new and exciting for everyone. Exciting times we are in.

play-asia_visa_deal

Yes, Play-Asia is currently having its Summer Promotion now. They’re giving away 20% discount on all in-stock items with the exception of items stocked within the last 30 days. The catch is you’ll have to make the purchase with a Visa card. Ha..it’s a good thing I have myself a Visa. Just go bug one of your buddies to let you use their Visa if you haven’t got one. Tell them you’ll share the loot with them. :) This’ll be a great time to pick up some older items. Some items I have on my Buy List:

I seem to remember there were quite a few other items I wanted to pick up a few months back but I can’t recall what they were now. Gah..should’ve put them in my Watchlist! Now please excuse me while I go hunt for them before they’re snatched up.

I loved the Watchmen film and I’m a fan of original comic art, so you can imagine my excitement when I came across these original art pieces done by penciller extraordinaire John Cassaday. These pieces were featured in the Watchmen - The Art of The Film book as part of a series of concept drawings that comic artists were asked to contribute to the vision of the film. John Cassaday was one of the artists, and these original art pieces are now for sale at Albert Moy Art.

My favourite would have to be the Rorschach piece, as I think the details are fantastic on the piece and it captures the essence of Rorschach perfectly. Sadly the price on it means it’s out of my reach. Grrrr. Argghh why are all good things so darn expensive!

Coincidentally, Ugo.com also has a review on the Watchmen - The Art of The Film book, and the Rorschach piece can be seen there in its colored and published form (see image above).
