This custom-made 1/6 Aliens Stasis Tube would make the perfect diorama accessory for those Hot Toys Aliens & Colonial Marines. It is built by Frank Cerney of FM Model Co. Head over to the company’s page here for more info & graphic goodness. Good news is the Statis Tube is available for sale for $60 and comes in kit form.

They’ve also produced a few other equally fine kits such as the Viper Mk II from Battlestar Galactica and the upcoming B-Wing from Star Wars. Their kits aren’t exactly cheap, but apparently they’re pretty well known for their quality among kit builders.

Here’s a sweet video demo of Hot Toys‘ new Parallel Eyeball Rolling System (PERS) which made its debut on their recently released MMS DX 01 The Dark Knight - Joker figure. After seeing the video and realising how appropriate it was to use such a system on the Joker (gives Joker’s expression an almost life-like appearance), I’m kind of regretting for not pre-ordering this wicked figure. Oh well, I’m pretty sure the figure’s still widely available for now so it’s all good.

Winson Classic Creation is about to add another cool figure to its line of Apexplorer figures. For this outing, these wicked primates will be all dressed up for space. There will be two variations of the figure, an Original Space Color Adam figure and a Space Special Adam figure which will be limited to 400 units.

The Original Space Color Adam figure will include the following:

- Space Clothing inclusive Space Gloves and Space Boots
- Space Helmet
- Space Helmet-mounted Scanner
- Space Power Engines
- Blaze Gun
- Gear Belt
- Power Controller

The Space Special Adam figure will include the following:
- Space Clothing inclusive Space Gloves and Space Boots
- Space Helmet
- Space Helmet-mounted Scanner
- Space Power Engines
- Blaze Gun
- Gear Belt
- Power Controller
- Apes DNA Test Tube

Both figures are scheduled for a March 2010 release and will be distributed by Hot Toys. I agree that some 1/6 collectors do not like the idea of the unrealistic ape-faced figure on a “human” body, but personally I kinda like the space theme to these figures, especially the suit and the light-up helmet.

This shouldn’t come as any surprise since Hot Toys (or any other toy manufacturers for the matter) will milk every penny out of a franchise by releasing minor costume updates and variants. Well, at least this one comes with a battle-damaged endoskeleton featured base and a 1/6th scale fully articulated Hydrobot with light up function. So I guess it’s all good.

How many of you who purchased the original-release John Connor are intending to pick this version up as well? Or are some of you thinking that you should’ve waited for this instead? Me..I still prefer the original one, but the light up Hydrobot on this is making this kinda tempting…hrmm. Damn you HT!

ACI Toys has just released their line of 1/6 Military Sweater Series. They come in 3 different colors with both Round Neck & V Neck versions in fine knitted and woven fabric. These sweaters accurately represent military sweaters of most modern nation forces and will be an indispensable accessory for modern 12″ military customisers. They supposedly fit best on Hot Toys figures, but will also be suitable with other brands.

This is awesome news. Aldo Raine, the character played by Brad Pitt in Quentin Tarantino’s latest smash hit movie Inglourious Basterds will be an upcoming figure in Hot Toys’ Movie Masterpiece (MMS) line.

Inglourious Basterds has been chalking up rave reviews everywhere but I have yet to watch it myself.  Although I pretty much know I’m just gonna enjoy it as much as the rest of Quentin Tarantino’s previous masterpieces.  I can’t even decide which Tarantino film’s the best as I pretty much love most of them. Do you have a favorite?

Hot Toys seems to be getting everything right don’t they? I’ll be keeping my eye closely on this one as it develops. Nice!

Here’s Hot Toys’ take on one of the characters of Watchmen. The Silk Spectre II figure will be yet another addition in Hot Toys’ impressive line of Movie Masterpiece figures. I think the likeness of the face sculpt is pretty spot-on to Malin Akerman in her role as Silk Spectre II in the highly acclaimed Watchmen movie. Figure-hugging black costume, yellow romper with garters, black thigh-high boot tops, black gloves…what’s there not to like about this figure really? And I like how they’re using implanted hair, rather than the usual sculpted ones. It just adds another layer of realism to the figure, but some might consider that a bit too doll-like eh?

Also, if you’d like to watch the Watchmen film in full-HD glory do check out the Special Edition Blu-Ray Watchmen package at Amazon.com as well, it comes with a nifty light-up Night Owl case to store the Watchmen Blu-Ray discs.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the original Alien film, Sideshow Collectibles in partnership with Hot Toys will be releasing the 1:6-Scale Alien ‘Big Chap’ Poseable Model Kit under Hot Toys’ Movie Masterpiece label and will be based on the original designs of H. R. Giger.

The ‘Big Chap’ is about 14″ in height, roughly the same as Hot Toys’ Predator figures if I’m correct. It comes with a nicely weathered diorama base but not much accessories here, Aliens don’t use guns anyway. They pretty much do away with claws and green acid spit..and the occasional hide and seek.

Sideshow’s line of The Dead 12″ figures continue to expand with this latest offering. Subject 245: Punk comes with the following accessories:

•Thermal t-shirt
•Leather bracelets
•Vest with badges
•Detailed belt and buckle
•Jeans with suspenders
•Boots
•Concert flyer
•Switch out right hand holding guts (Exclusive version only)

The sculpt and paintwork looks pretty fine to me from the promo shots. I’ve always dreamt of putting together a Resident Evil diorama with zombies from Sideshow’s The Dead line. But considering the number of zombie figures I’d be needing, it’ll probably cost me an arm and a leg (sorry for the pun). Hurry over to Sideshow if you intend to secure yourself a punk. The previous zombie figures such as Subject 1025: The Babysitter - Spooktacular Edition, Subject 138: The Street Prophet, and Subject 2221: The Harbinger - Sideshow Exclusive Edition are still available from Sideshow if you’re interested in building your zombie army.
