This here is the Ferrari 458 Italia and is one of the most stunningly beautiful modern-era Ferrari I have seen. And it comes with a tyre-shredding 562 horsepower to match its looks. What..are you serious? 562 HP on an entry-level Ferrari?
Which got me thinking…isn’t the horsepower race between manufacturers getting a little out of hand? If all car manufacturers subscribe to the idea of gradually nudging up the horsepower of a model with every new iteration, very soon most cars would be reaching pretty ridiculous numbers. Will we be seeing 400 horsepower Civic Type-Rs within the next decade? Very possible if you ask me. I think in the not-too-distant future, most cars on the road would be equally fast since there’s only so much horsepower you can use on real roads.
Anyway, back to the Ferrari 458 Italia. I think the front looks gorgeous but the back doesn’t look like it integrates smoothly with the rest of the car. With the exception of the triple exhaust, which looks pretty damn badass.
The official Ferrari 458 Italia page here has more information.
