Graphic Collectibles has a few art pieces from J Scott Campbell’s recently released FairyTale Fantasies 2010 Calendar, including this absolutely delicious Snow White piece. The calendar was recently released during the San Diego Comic Con. I’ll be picking up a copy of the calendar for myself from Ebay but I don’t know which month this rendition of Snow White will appear in at the moment.

I’ve been following his work since his Gen 13 days at Wildstorm, and till this day I still rate Danger Girl as one of the best comics out there. I also found a video of Mr. Campbell doing a Harley Quinn sketch during a Comics Convention. He looks like he has a rather unorthodox way of holding the pencil, but boy can he draw. Check out J. Scott Campbell’s page on Deviantart if you’re interested in following his work.

I posted a video tour of Model Factory Hiro by HobbyLink Japan a couple of days ago, and now I stumbled on a video tour of HobbyLink Japan’s warehouse by CollectionDX! So in this video HobbyLink Japan (HLJ) is the host rather than the visitor. It’s quite amazing to see how quiet and clean the warehouse is. I’ve always had the impression that a stocking warehouse would be a little noisier and more messy than that. Must be nice working at a place with all the toys, collectibles and model kits you’ll ever need!

The Dollfie Dream (DD) Dynamite Yoko figure from Volks has just recently been released. Admittedly, most male figure and statue collectors aren’t big fans of Volks’ dolls, and I can understand why since these are more like dolls. But I have a feeling they’re slowly gaining new fans since Danny of Dannychoo.com has been featuring these on his site quite often ever since he was bitten by the “doll bug”.

From what I understand the Dynamite term in Volks’ Dollfie Dream line basically refers to a new body type with massive boobs. Hence the Dynamite reference..lol. And Yoko here would make the perfect candidate doncha think?

Not sure if Volks USA is still taking orders for it so if you’re interested in picking one up, your best bet would be to head over to Yahoo! Auctions Japan and go through a deputy service like Rinkya or Shopping Mall Japan. Dark Dollhouse has posted lots of pictures of the doll itself so be sure to head over if you’d like more pictures of this busty rifle-toting babe.

HobbyLink Japan (HLJ) has just posted videos of a tour of the new Model Factory Hiro headquarters. Model Factory Hiro is a model kit manufacturer based in Japan that mainly specializes in the production of highly detailed automotive model kits. These kits are more commonly known as multimedia kits because they contain an assortment of materials such as resin, rubber, aluminum, white metal parts, brass as well as photo-etched parts to accurately replicate the full-scale vehicles.

In the videos, Scott Hards of HLJ will take the viewers through the entire design, development and manufacturing process that Model Factory Hiro goes through to bring a model to kit enthusiasts. I thoroughly enjoyed the videos as they provided a great insight into how kits are produced. Thanks HLJ!

solid_alliance_terminator_t-600_endoskeleton_usb_drive

If you enjoyed the Terminator: Salvation movie and can’t get enough of all things Terminator related, here’s an exclusive item to add to your list of must-haves. This 2GB USB flash drive from Solid Alliance has red Swarovski rhinestones for eyes to give it a menacing look (and crazy price tag). At 15,000 YEN ($160) for 2GB worth of capacity is by no means cheap, but that’s what you’ll have to pay for exclusivity as these are supposedly being produced in very limited numbers. It’s for sale only in Japan but if you really want one, GEEKSTUFF4U apparently will be stocking some in September for us not living in the land of cool gadgets.

Whoa…these are really cool figures from Usavich, which is an animated short produced for MTV Japan by Kanaban Graphics. The Usavich anime revolves around two rabbits, Putin and Kierenenko and their adventures in a Soviet prison. Some episodes can be quite funny indeed. Do check it out if you haven’t already done so.

But what we’re going to be featuring today isn’t the anime but these very cool figures of Putin and Kierenenko from FREEing.

Putin and Kierenenko are both large figures, standing at approximately 40cm (16″), and the best thing about these figures: they dance! Yup, they dance..just like in the beginning of each episode where it always starts off with Putin dancing on the bed accompanied by that wacky music in the background. In the case of these figures, Purin will be swinging his hips to the music while Kirenenko will be cleaning his shoes - both to the familiar background music from the show. Absolutely fantastic!

Both figures are available in December for about 12,000 YEN ($120) each. These 2 clowns are absolutely must-haves for me. Will these be in your buy-list as well? And are you a fan of the animated short?

This adorable figure from Kotobukiya is apparently called Kobato from the manga of the same name. The manga was initially featured in CLAMP magazine. Although I haven’t the slightest clue about Kobato but I do like what I see on this figure. Very vibrant colors and the umbrella and cage-like thingy complements the figure nicely.

Kobato will debut in December and pre-orders are available at most retailers now.

wave_toradora_taiga_2

This is Wave’s representation of Aisaka Taiga from the Toradora anime. I’m absolutely digging the pose and expression on the figure since it has a very playful expression to it. And based on the scans from the Hobby Japan magazine, she will come with multiple facial expressions, but the smiling one seems like the better of the two. The other neutral expression just seems too generic to me.

By the way if you haven’t already done so, do check out the Toradora anime as it’s a nice little romantic comedy.
